R404A Refrigerant Gas Available,R404A is an azeotropic blend of HFC refrigerants R125, R143a and R134a.  It was widely used for commercial refrigeration applications, including display cabinets, cold rooms and ice machines, as well as transport refrigeration and industrial refrigeration.

R404A Refrigerant Gas Available,R404A is an azeotropic blend of HFC refrigerants R125, R143a and R134a.  It was widely used for commercial refrigeration applications, including display cabinets, cold rooms and ice machines, as well as transport refrigeration and industrial refrigeration.

It has a GWP greater than 2500 and virgin product cannot be used for servicing in the UK and EU in stationary refrigeration applications > 40 CO2 T eq. The use of reclaimed R404A is allowed until 31/12/2029 assuming that the product is still available.R448A, R449A and R452A are potential replacements in direct expansion systems.  Please contact Us for specific recommendations for your applications.

R404A Refrigerant Gas Available: the reference product for commercial refrigeration

404A is an ozone-friendly refrigerant gas and was created as a long-term alternative to R-22 (HCFC) for commercial refrigeration at low and medium temperature.404A is a mildly zeotropic blend; it is therefore necessary that the installations are charged only with a refrigerant in the liquid phase, and not with vapour, as this would cause an alteration of the initial composition of the refrigerant, presenting a potential risk of damage to the installation.

R404A Refrigerant Gas Available Applications:

404A is commonly used in a wide range of commercial and industrial refrigeration applications at medium and low temperatures, such as:

  • Supermarkets and GDOs: centralized installations for display cases and refrigerator benches, cold rooms/freezers, preparation rooms, etc.
  • Catering and catering services
  • Cold stores
  • Stand-alone systems (e.g. refrigerated plates and showcases)
  • Refrigerated transport
  • Machines for the production of ice cream
  • Ice cream production machines.

Performance:

Capacity and efficiency similar to R-502.

Its use has been approved by the main compressor manufacturers.

Recommended lubricants:

Kryon® 404A is used with all lubricants miscible with HFC refrigerants. GeneralGas recommends the use of a lubricant such as polyol ester (POE), approved by compressor manufacturers.

The different types of lubricants based on polyolesters do not support interchangeability; If converting the installation, check the correct type and viscosity grade with the compressor manufacturer.
